The region’s first purpose-built business incubator and accelerator stands proud as a landmark on the corner of Innovation Way, Innovation Campus. The 4,000 square metre facility was opened in 2016 and features ‘plug and go’ expandable space allowing companies to accelerate and expand at a phenomenal pace. It is an architectural marvel featuring many local building products and was designed to pay homage to the history of the Illawarra region.

The University of Wollongong-led team producing 3D-printed medical face shields for health workers is calling on community-based makers to register their interest in helping 3D print the face shields should future demand exceed current manufacturing capacity.

Several teams from across the University have pooled their 3D printing capabilities to produce the face shields, which can help protect health workers from COVID-19.
