Chuck Stone

Director

Chuck’s past 25 years’ of experience has seen him undertake and lead roles in property and development, strategic planning, facilities and asset management and project management. Chuck has worked for groups including RSL Care Australia, Charleston Consulting, Wyndham Worldwide (US & South Pacific) and Niecon Developments; managing property portfolios exceeding $1.4 billion. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Arizona, and an MBA from the University of Washington, Chuck has come to the right place to lead the development of our Innovation Campus. With a passion for urban planning, Chuck will be the engine room driving our next decade of development, making the Innovation Campus a great place to live, work and play.

Meg Barnes

Interim Business Manager

Prior to joining the team in early 2019, Meg completed a Bachelor of Commerce and spent six years working in sales, marketing and PR roles where she has developed a strong customer focused skillset. Before acting as Business Manager at SmartSpace, Meg held two roles within the team including the first point of contact for SmartSpace clients on reception, and providing administrative support to the Innovation Campus Director & Campus Management team. Her can-do attitude and excellent communications skills make Meg an integral part of the team.

Sarah Sugden

Business Manager on leave

Sarah’s path to SmartSpace is unique. Prior to joining the team in 2017, Sarah completed a Primary School Teaching Degree and worked as a classroom teacher for the NSW Department of Education. After a year, Sarah decided to try something new, taking on a job with McGrath Estate Agents, working in marketing and administration. Learnt from her time as a teacher, Sarah has excellent organisational skills. With her experience and talent honed through various roles, Sarah is a vital asset to our Campus community. Sarah is currently on Maternity leave and will be returning in 2021.

Sophie Whittaker

Administrative Assistant

Sophie has spent the last seven years gaining experience in a variety of organisations including the University of Wollongong and New South Wales State Emergency Services. With three years of experience working in Administration at the University of Wollongong, Sophie has also acquired her Certificate III and IV in Business Administration. During her time at these institutions, Sophie has exercised her great ability to multi-task, whilst delivering a high level of customer service and managing administrative support. Sophie’s goal at the Innovation Campus is to support our clients and the wider campus community, by building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while continuing to display exceptional customer service. ​
