Chuck Stone

Director

Chuck’s past 25 years’ experience has seen him undertake and lead roles in property and development, strategic planning, facilities and asset management and project management. Chuck has worked for groups including RSL Care Australia, Charleston Consulting, Wyndham Worldwide (US & South Pacific) and Niecon Developments; managing property portfolios exceeding $1.4 billion. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Washington Chuck has come to the right place to lead the development of our Innovation Campus masterplan and next decade of development. With a passion for urban planning and development Chuck will be the engine room driving our next decade of development, making the Innovation Campus a great place to live, work and play.

Jonas Marcelo

General Manager

Jonas has more than 12 years’ experience within the start-up, property and serviced office market; he optimises our business strategy, and drives leasing and business development across SmartSpace and the Innovation Campus Management team. Jonas has worked across the globe with start-up businesses and large corporations including Corporate Executive Offices, McGrath Estate Agents and his own start-up, Scope Partners. With a laugh that is infectious and a passion for the SmartSpace second-to-none, Jonas has been fundamental in creating a thriving community.

Tegan Thompson

Business Manager

As the newest member of the team, Tegan Thompson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to SmartSpace. Working in the real estate industry for the past ten years, Tegan is a sales and contracts expert.  During Tegan’s time at Advance Property Management, she developed a diverse range of skills, from sales administration and office management to managing a portfolio of over 200 properties. With both marketing and business management qualifications under her belt, Tegan is thriving in her new position as SmartSpace Business Manager, driving and working within a team culture second-to-none.

Hayley Rodd

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Hayley has been at the University of Wollongong in some way or another for over 10 years. At 17 Hayley begun a double degree at UOW in Psychology and Business and studied and worked in various faculties and units as a casual staff member throughout her studies. It is creating fantastic events and continuing to drive an active and innovative Innovation Campus and SmartSpace brand, which propels Hayley today. Hayley is a team player and ‘going above and beyond’ is her middle name (or it should be).

Alex Cassidy

Administrative Assistant

Alex is the bright face of our SmartSpace facility. Her bubbly persona and excellent skills with all things IT make Alex a fundamental part of the team. As the Administrative Assistant, Alex is the first point of contact for our Campus community; ensures the office runs smoothly and handles all bookings and correspondence for the Innovation Campus and SmartSpace facility.

Sarah Chalker

Administrative Assistant

Sarah’s path to SmartSpace is unique. Prior to joining the team in 2017, Sarah completed a Primary School Teaching Degree and worked as a classroom teacher for the NSW Department of Education. After a year, Sarah decided to try something new, taking on a job with McGrath Estate Agents, working in marketing and administration. Learnt from her time as a teacher, Sarah has excellent organisational skills. With her experience and talent honed through various roles, Sarah is a vital asset to our Campus community.
